Hitting trees is big in some of the traditional styles in CMA as a form of “hardening” exercises if you don’t have a partner around. I remember once in Beijing hitting trees in the area near my apartment, when an old woman came up to me and scolded me for “destroying” the precious trees. Anyway, I had to move on to another patch of trees. Maybe we’ll open a new series “men who hate trees”, if we can find more good tree hitting clips. Continue reading →
