We laugh: Grandmaster’s polka
This week will be a small gongfubrother reunion between Puja and me. We celebrate with this classic video of some old masters dropping some moves and hope to find some time to practice together. My personal favourite is the paddle-form at 0:40 and the barbell moves at 1:00.
We laugh: Animal Bondage Gong Fu
We found the astonishing youtube channel of “Taoistic Society Germany” where the dedicated operator uploaded almost 3.000 videos of demonstrations with melodic names like “Animal Bondage Greeting Fu Lu Shou” and descriptions full of pinyin that leave us perplexed. He seems to dabble in calligraphy and playing the 古琴 Gu Qin, too. We are rendered speechless.

We laugh: Punch-Bag
The bag for the design-conscious shoppers among us, designed by Jiri Enehuis & Janne Kyttanen. Freedom of Creation seems to have quite a lot of items with this laser-sintered polyamide of theirs. Sadly they don’t have this item on stock anymore – would have made a great Valentines-Day gift.

We laugh: Godfather Spaghetti Measuring Device
In case you get attacked while cooking up some delicious full grain spaghetti, this gadget will come in handy. However, your fingers should be pretty thin. Maybe some of our female readers could try it on. Now if someone would combine this with the previously mentioned Knuckle Pounder, we would have the perfect kitchen/self-defense tool.
Sadly Charles&Marie don’t have this in their shop anymore. However, there’s always the “I Could Eat a Horse” spaghetti measure from Iceland (pictured on the right) for your spaghetti measuring pleasures.
We laugh: Bourgeois Brass Knuckles
Today’s entry into the brass knuckles category is a combination opposites, bringing together an object of the street and an upperclass activity. In their own words:
The Bourgeois Brass Knuckles are a cross between two iconic objects whose cultural and socio-economic associations lie at opposite ends of the spectrum from one another. Originally designed by Jonathan Sabine, the BBK is being produced in a numbered limited edition run of 50 by the Chromoly studio. We laugh: Japanese Dancing Karate Hybrid Ramen Ad
We’re still not sure why these guys are dancing and why they’re wearing a Gi while doing it, but they actually move a lot smoother than most Karate practitioners out there ;-) First we thought it was some (High-)Burito-flavored noodles, but then we saw they mean “Hybrid”, which made us even more confused…
